God is good to allow me to do a great number of things, but one of my favorite things in all of the world is getting to be a greeter at Southern Hills Baptist Church. Every Sunday morning you can find me greeting and distributing bulletins at Door #11. Continue reading “HOW MARVELOUS, HOW WONDERFUL”

I got back from New York City around 2 o’clock this afternoon. While momma was cooking dinner my spirit told me that I should go get a Dr. Pepper icee and that is just what I did. I got into my Ford Escape and drove myself over to the neighborhood OnCue (just a few blocks away) and got myself thirty-two ounces of one of my favorite drinks.

As I drove off and after taking the first sip of this Dr. Pepper deliciousness, I remembered that I never took the time to thank God for bringing my team and me home safely. While talking with the Lord about the trip and many of the things I was thankful for, our conversation made a transition once I backed into my driveway. #WifeSearch2014 was obviously not a success and so has begun #WifeSearch2015. I am currently sitting in NYC where there are a great number of potential candidates. Unfortunately, it is the last day of my stay here and I am mostly certain that I will be coming home still single.

I eventually made myself close my laptop and place it next to my bed before quickly falling asleep. About midday today I found myself telling a friend about this wealth of information I recently discovered. After she left I immediately got onto my computer and started ingesting more stuff from this wonderful blog. One of the cool things about this page is that they provide a daily writing prompt. Today’s prompt is the following:

A writer once said, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” If this is true, which five people would you like to spend your time with?

Prior to the 1960s, school-sponsored prayer was common and most people seemed to be okay with it. There were a couple of cases that showed some objection. One of those cases involved Catholics in Wisconsin. They were upset that Wisconsin Public Schools were reciting scriptures from the King James Version of the Bible. They took their frustrations all the way to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and in 1890 the courts ruled in favor of Catholics. Continue reading “PRAYER IN SCHOOL”
